Supervised, structured programs that offer a wide range of outpatient services which may be coordinated by a case manager and may include individual and group counseling, 12-step meetings, social and recreational activities, educational and vocational services, life skills training, primary health care, perinatal health care, a program for family members, relapse prevention services, a continuing care program and supportive services (such as child care, transportation and parenting skills development) for individuals who have problems related to excessive use of alcohol and/or use of other drugs and need access to treatment to maintain their individual recovery plans but do not require the intensity of a day treatment program or 24-hour hospital care. Participants attend the program on a regularly scheduled basis at least once a month but usually more frequently depending on their individual needs. Intensive outpatient programs are usually available three or four days per week for three or four hours per day.

Alcohol/Drug Abuse ServicesSaratoga County Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services is a medically supervised outpatient program providing treatment for individuals with an alcohol or drug problem and for family members trying to cope with the presence of alcohol or drug problems within the family. Treatment is designed to promote abstinence, to improve community integration, and to improve daily functioning. Alcohol/Drug Abuse ServicesThe CD Clinic offers quality care for those in need of services for alcohol, drug and gambling addiction, and also serves those with co-occurring disorders. Provides individual, family and group treatment that is tailored to help the individual and medication prescribing services through a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Twenty-four hour crisis services are offered through the Mental health Clinic's hotline. Individual adult treatment interventions are person-centered, evidence based and include a psychosocial assessment, urine drug screen, and collaboration with the treatment team to assess for appropriate level of care. The individual would need to show a dependency or abuse diagnosis with substances to be entered into treatment. Tobacco cessation is included in treatment intervention for substance abuse, but is not a stand-alone service. Child-Adolescent of Alcoholic (COA) services are available to support children who have been negatively impacted by a substance abusing parent. Family of Alcoholic-Co-dependency treatment is also offered for adults who have been negatively impacted by a substance abusing family member. Group treatment includes psycho-education, relapse prevention, skill building, emotional regulation, smoking cessation, and anger management, as well as additional specialized recovery groups for adolescents, women and men. Gambling treatment is a stand-alone service. The referred individual does not have to have a substance abuse addiction to enter gambling addiction treatment. Crisis Services are provided through the Mental Health Clinic and Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
