    Animal Support ServicesThe Mohawk Hudson Humane Society provides shelter for lost, abused and unwanted animals. The animal care facility is the largest in the Capital Region, receiving an average of 7,000 animals per year. The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society places animals in responsible homes. Each animal is spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Cats are tested for feline leukemia and dogs are tested for heart-worm. Treatment for fleas and intestinal parasites is administered if needed. Micro-chipping is available at the time of adoption for an additional $10. Pet owners may come to the Humane Society to claim lost pets. Found animals are listed on the Society's website If you are in a situation you believe will require you to give up your pet, you have several options.     Animal Support ServicesCGHS/SPCA is committed to making sure that every adopted animal we place is spayed or neutered. Most companions have their surgery even before being placed up for adoption. We also offer a low-cost feline spaying and neutering clinic to the public at our Shelter.
