|Mental Health Services||Parsons' Day Treatment Program provides services to youth who have serious emotional disturbance and are in need of integrated clinical and educational programming for school achievement and success. Youth and their family members participate in the creation of comprehensive plans that address their social, emotional, psychological, psychiatric, health and educational needs. As a New York State Office of Mental Health licensed program, all youths are evaluated and treated by the program's mental health professionals, which include licensed social work and mental health counselors, nursing, and psychiatric staff. The Day Treatment Program uses a trauma-informed philosophy of care in which licensed mental health staff are trained in state-of-the-art practices in the assessment and treatment of youths who have experienced trauma.
The ultimate goal is to reintegrate youths into the educational and vocational mainstream. Through the provision of a broad range of coordinated services, the Day Treatment Program works to strengthen individual and family functioning and to prevent residential placement.
