The Town Clerk is the registrar of Vital Statistics and keeps a permanent record of all births and deaths that occur in town boundaries as well as all marriage licenses applied for at this office. The clerk is the filing officer for the town for affidavits of publications, resignations, petitions, annual budgets, fiscal reports, assessment rolls, bonds, and other pertinent town documents. Town Clerk issues licenses and permits for marriages, dogs, conservation (hunting and fishing), duck stamps, bingo, games-of-chance licenses, handicapped parking, peddling and soliciting, trailers and street openings. The clerks office can issue certificates of birth or marriage, or residency to individuals who need it for college. This clerk office is also the election coordinator and oversees all special, primary and general elections in the town.
