Choices for Work is a vocational evaluation service that assists individuals with disabilities residing in Schenectady County to learn about their distinctive and diverse skills, aptitudes and interests in order to identify fulfilling and productive career choices. Through this service, individuals learn about careers which correspond to their skills, interests and abilities using traditional career exploration resources and on-site job try-outs, providing a first-hand opportunity to learn about different types of work. There are no pre-determined outcomes. At the conclusion of the service, a comprehensive, goal-oriented written report is generated providing information for pre-vocational and vocational planning. Services can be conducted on-site or at other locations. Choices for Work provides convenient access to other Schenectady ARC services including school-to-work transition, day habilitation, sheltered and supported employment.
