The Federal  Employee  Government Shutdown Assistance Program  includes loan payment deferment on current Adirondack Bank, home-equity, and mortgage loans for up to six months. Also offers new loan assistance, featuring a 90-day deferral of the first payment with a fixed rate as low as prime, which on Wednesday was at 5.50 percent annual percentage rate for short-term financial assistance.

Customers who are federal employees, contractors or receive federal benefits can enroll in the TD Cares Customer Assistance Program to help meet day-to-day financial needs during the partial government shutdown. Those who have an account in good standing and meet other eligibility requirements can access up to $1,000 in additional funds not currently available in their account, with no overdraft fees or costs. Assistance is available to those who receive late charges on a TD Bank Visa credit card. There are opportunities for short-term relief for those struggling to make a mortgage, home equity, auto or personal loan payment to TD Bank. Small business customers may be eligible to negotiate payment options and fee flexibility on their loan of line or credit.

Doing 0% short term notes using their standard net pay to determine loan amount.  There is a scale that has been developed to determine the actual amount of the loan. With each pay period that is missed, the member is eligible for a new loan. Once the back pay is received, the loans are to be paid  off. For members that have consumer loans (non-mortgages), they are doing principal deferrals during the shutdown.

UFirst is offering a Special Assistance Loan to help you through any financial strain you may be experiencing during the shutdown. Here are the terms: 5% discount off the standard unsecured loan rate that you would qualify for; 60 month term; First payment deferred upto 90 days; Maximum loan amount of $5,000. Loans are subject to credit approval. Must be a member in good standing.  Loan is limited to one loan per household.

Champlain National Bank is helping its clients who will not be receiving a paycheck due to the federal government shutdown by deferring loan payments. Casella ensures the residents who call and are in good standing will receive normally scheduled trash and recycling pick up through the duration of the shutdown. No payment will be required during the shutdown period, however can not forgive the balance that will be owed.
