Description of ServiceThe Town Clerk keeps and maintains town records, oversees elections, and issues handicapped parking permits, Certificates of Residency, marriage certificates, death certificates and burial permits. Notary services are also offered.

Intake RequirementsMarriage license: Photo ID and birth certificate. If previously married: proof of death, divorce or annulment are also required.
Additional RequirementsMarriage license: Both parties must be present to complete the application and sign the affidavit.
Helpful TipsBirth certificates may also be obtained by contacting the NYS Department of Health Bureau of Vital Records at 518-474-2005. Copies of divorce decrees may be obtained at the Rensselaer County Clerk's Office at 518-270-4080.
