General Information
Description of ServiceThe Healthcare Consortium Kids in Motion program is a Childhood Obesity Prevention Program funded by NYS Department of Health. The goal is to get kids moving more, eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, and getting less screen time (TV and computers). This school and community-based program, has a front line presence in the lives of children in the K-5 age groups. The aim of The Healthcare Consortium Kids in Motion program is to reach out to kids who may feel a little left out of the sports team mentality. Not everyone has to be a competitive athlete, yet everyone needs to find something that moves them, quite literally, so they can have positive feelings about exercise and movement.
