Description of Service
Parsons Child and Family Center serves as the lead agency for the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waiver in 14 counties in Upstate New York. Essentially, the Waiver allows families access to services not previously paid by Medicaid. HCBS Waiver program is a cost-effective approach designed to provide services that enable youths to remain at home or in the community, decreasing the use of institutional placements.
Services include: individualized care coordination, intensive in-home services, crisis response, family support, respite and skill building. All service plans are developed with the participant, parent-caretaker/ legal guardian, individualized care coordinator, and other supporters identified by the child and family.
