Description of Service
The Child and Adolescent Mobile Team (CAMT) provides an immediate community-based crisis response service to any family with a child-adolescent in Albany, Rensselaer or Schenectady Counties, under the age of 18 (or older if still in day school programming) experiencing a serious emotional, psychiatric or behavioral crisis. The team will respond to homes schools, community agencies as requested by family members or law enforcement. A multidisciplinary team will provide consultation, information, crisis assessment and intervention, and facilitation of alternate levels of care directly to the families during crisis episodes, whien it is most likely to have a significant impact, and next day phone support to help the family gather knowledge and resources to prevent-deal with future crisis episodes. The guiding principle of this initiative is that children and families must be assisted in the least intrusive, least traumatizing manner possible.

In a life threatening situation, contact 911. Otherwise, call one of the gatekeepers (the numbers listed in the Intake Section by county) associated with the county where the child/adolescent in crisis is currently. The gatekeeper will initially triage the call, confirm the team's availability and based on the team's triage determination, CRCAMT will respond as clinically indicated.
