The Unity House of Troy Domestic Violence Services program provides services to all victims and survivors of domestic violence, including victims and survivors of intimate partner violence and family violence. Unity House operates a 33-bed confidential shelter and an extensive non-residential program. The program employs co-located advocates at the Rensselaer County Department of Social Services, Rensselaer County Child Protective Services, and Rensselaer County Family Court. Additionally, advocates are available to assist victims and survivors with law enforcement and prosecution. Services include advocacy, accompaniment, information and referral, support, and extensive safety planning.
Unity House Domestic Violence Services offers several housing programs that provide intensive case management and rental assistance to program participants. Housing options include Permanent Supportive Housing, Rapid Re-Housing, and Transitional Housing. Unity House Domestic Violence Services offers a therapy program, which includes individual and group domestic violence education. Another service is the counseling, specifically designed for the unique circumstances that victims and survivors encounter.
Finally, Unity House offers the Unity House Law Project. The Law Project provides consultation and representation on civil-legal matters to income-eligible victims and survivors within the county.
