General Information
Description of ServiceThe Eat Smart New York Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed,), formerly Food Stamp Nutrition Education Program (FSNEP), helps limited-income individuals and families to acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and changed behavior necessary to improve their diets, make the best use of available food dollars, make healthy food choices and choose active lifestyles consistent with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the Food Guide Pyramid. Nutrition Program Educators provide a series of 6 - 8 classes individually with families or in small group settings.
