Individualized Cognitive Rehabilitation treatment is provided in one-hour or two-hour sessions held once or twice weekly. Sessions begin with addressing primary cognitive skills, and then advance to the more complex memory, thought, and executive functions. Specially designed workbooks, computer-based exercises, audio tapes, and other tools are used, adapted to the individual's needs. Development of a system of pacing techniques for symptom management as well as compensatory strategies for persistent cognitive impairments are other essential components of the program.
